Tow young boys and mother playing with circuit blocks outside

"During our very first workshop there were two families who shared that they were both new to the area and they were so excited to have found a place where their kids can play and they can connect with other families. They just so happened to have moved here from the same state and instantly connected over their shared experiences of moving to NWA and new found love of the Amazeum!"

"This past summer, we visited 23 libraries in 9 different counties, (and traveled almost 4000 miles) to bring Amazeum programming into libraries as part of the Summer Reading Program. We reached 1436 children ages 3-17!"

Two young girls performing in front of a group

"In this interactive theatre performance, 1st grade students met Miss Mouse at the town square balling her eyes out. It was her birthday and her friends who had promised to make her a cake had not shown up to her party. Throughout the performance children travel around the theatre to find Miss Mouse's friends and help them bake her birthday cake. During this particular performance we walked into Ms. Chameleon's frosting shop to find out that the Chameleon needed help mixing colors to make beautiful frosting. Immediately one of the 1st graders raised their hand and said "Don't worry Chameleon its okay to make mistakes, we can help you!" Her comment almost made all the adults in the room cry. The empathy children could express and develop in this performance was one of the highlights, seeing learners genuinely care for others and want to solve problems together was heartwarming."

"One day of Spring Break Camp took a focus on circuits. In the morning myself and our learners explored circuits by playing with circuit blocks and identifying the parts of a circuit. Later that afternoon I was working with our younger learners and we were using an energy tube, further exploring circuits and conductivity. Before we made a big circle and tried as a group, I had one learner, a very young little boy, come up and be my example. I had him grab one end of the tube and I grabbed the other. It didn't turn on. The little boy looked and noticed we weren't making a circle. He said, "We need to hold hands!" As soon as we touched hands the tube started to light up and make noise. This kiddo's entire face lit up and he said, "Oh my gosh we're the wires!" It was so exciting to see this very young child show such excitement and understanding towards this topic. It was clear in that moment that the big body play of this activity really helped him make connections and understand what a circuit is."
