Scott Family Amazeum @ 6 Months...

January 15, 2016

Dear Scott Family Amazeum Community,

Happy 1/2 Birthday! It is with great joy that the Amazeum team and I can officially say Happy New Year NWA from an open museum.  Nearly 2,000 kids and families joined us on NYE in ringing in the new year for the first time, releasing a beautiful cloud of wishing balloons and marching around to our last end-of-the-day parade of 2015.

With six months under our belt as of today, we would like to again say thank you for joining and supporting us on this amazing journey!  These past months have been busy, filled with great educational moments with kids and families, and it couldn’t have happened without such great support from so many.

As a new museum, we are also learning a lot through our interactions with and feedback from all of you.  I would like to say thank you all for your patience.  Your commitment to let us know about your visits continually helps us to become a better and more community-driven museum every day.

We can’t wait to share what lies ahead.  We are launching Scout Programs this winter to help provide great educational experiences in science for boys and girls around the region.  Two days in the coming months have been established for homeschool learners to use the museum as a teaching tool, something we look forward to expanding in the future.

In April we will begin hosting a wonderful traveling exhibition called How People Make Things, created by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and inspired by the factory tours Mr. Rogers took his viewers through.  For the young and curious at heart, we are hosting our first adults-only night, Amazeum on the Rocks: Chill, later this month to allow an evening for adults to take over the museum and play.

We wish you a great start to 2016, and look forward to so many curious and creative moments with you ahead!

Best Wishes,

Sam and the Amazeum Team
