Interactive exhibits engage visitors with the land, industries, and people who built the Arkansas culture, and sustain it today. Exhibitions include the 3M Tinkering Hub; General Mills Lift, Load and Haul; Market Sponsored by Walmart; Nature Valley Water Amazements; Nickelodeon Play Lab; Hershey's Lab, and more.
In addition, approximately one acre of outdoor space accommodates year-round learning and provides a backdrop for experiments and experiences inspired by the seasons. The facility includes a venue for businesses and organizations to host gatherings, productions, and special events. The Amazeum offers a variety of educational programs for a range of audiences.
The Amazeum exists to spark and nurture the curious and creative spirit in all of us.
Creating communities infused with science and arts, full of active and engaged Makers and doers.
The Amazeum builds community around powerful learning experiences.
Learning is an active process, a personal adventure. It can be noisy, messy, and appear chaotic. It can also look quiet and unassuming.
The Amazeum Team promises to create experiences that honor and preserve these important qualities of powerful learning, and not to steal opportunities of true A-HA! or HUH? from our guests or ourselves. The Amazeum Team itself is full of learners - these adventures are not reserved for our guests. At every turn, the team is constantly involved in constant learning agendas of our own to encourage growth and development of ourselves and our organization.
The first step in many learning adventures starts with a question, the spark that ignites the desire to find something out. The question is a precious thing, and we will create experiences that both evoke curiosity and nurture the special nature of our guests’ own questions.
Creativity is the moment where we start to act in the world, turning our individual questions and experiments into reality. It is a powerful moment, as well as a scary one, where we put a little bit of ourselves out there for others to see.
We will provide a safe space to fail - literally and figuratively. The best moments for growth are when we are outside our current comfort zones, and we will provide opportunities to grow and stretch without a fear of failure, both with our guests and within our own team.
There is power in having access to real stuff. Real musical instruments, real tools, real art, real semi-trucks. Access to the real thing is important.
But to do real things with real stuff we also need to trust. We trust our team and our visitors. We trust that we all have each others’ bestinterests at heart, that we want to have joyful days full of learning and play. We will have opportunities for safe risk at the Amazeum, and we trust our visitors to responsibly navigate that with us.
The Amazeum is an integrated part of the greater community, and we take seriously our role in being part of the overall learning ecology in the area. Not only do we look to create strong bonds with other community organizations, but we will also be fearless in encouraging others to stage experiences with us.
As an organization, we also recognize that we function best when we proactively build and cultivate our own team community. We like working with each other. We will continually work to nurture that team, in ways large and small.
Incredible guest experience is in our DNA. We take pride in creating powerful moments in families’ lives centered around play and learning. We are honored by the trust the community places in us, and are excited to be able to pay that back by crafting special opportunities for learning that go beyond guests’ wildest expectations and enter into the truly extraordinary.
At the Amazeum, we cultivate a sense of belonging by understanding people as whole individuals, recognizing and overcoming barriers to access, and building confident, resilient learners who feel safe to explore and ask questions.
We remain grounded in equity for our team, guests, and partners.
We commit to listening, learning, and co-designing with our diverse community. Each person brings value to our community with unique perspectives. We will adapt our practice to create inclusive learning spaces for individuals to be their full selves and foster genuine connection.
