Maker to Market is a one-day experience that will transform your economics and maker teaching practices. Maker to Market blends the growing interest in maker-based learning with the economics behind taking a product to market. You will explore maker techniques to utilize recycled materials followed by creating a product based on your new found knowledge. You will pitch your product idea and see how it performs in the market of workshop peers. Come discover classroom activities that address science and engineering practices as well as economic and entrepreneurial concepts.
Thanks to generous support from Economics Arkansas, this workshop is available at no cost. Pre-registration required through Economics Arkansas.

The NWA STEAM Institute is a two-day immersive professional development event for educators interested in integrating STEAM in their educational settings. The Wonder Lab at Shaw Elementary will host and facilitate activities they use with their students. The Amazeum team, NWAESC’s STEM Specialist, and children’s book and digital illustrator Chloe Burgett will collaborate with the Wonder Lab to highlight science and literacy integration with STEAM for all learners.
Participation fee: $145 per person
Financial aid available upon request. Recommended for 2 or more participants from the same institution to attend together.

Join Amazeum team members and the Co-op’s Elementary STEM Specialist for a day of hands-on activities, collaborative discussions, and reflective exercises designed to deepen one’s understanding of the K-4 science standards, teach using phenomena, and help students make sense of their learning. Participants will leave equipped with the knowledge and skills to inspire their students to be curious about the world around them as well as resources they can use in their classrooms. This session will be fun, engaging and an opportunity to build confidence about teaching science in the K-4 classroom.
